ATMOSPHERE
III

ATMOSPHERE III was the first phase of the creation process and is now a stand-alone, installation piece that is meant to be performed on smaller stages and spaces.

It's the foundation of the this work's creation process, originating as a short trio that was created with the intention to be performed for an intimate audience.

Over it's lifespan it's been performed at conferences, outdoor spaces, intimate indoor settings and more.

Atmosphere originally started as a commission in which Artists Climate Collective was included in Trellis Group’s (formerly Greenbiz Group) biodiversity conference, held in San Jose CA. The conference had posted a “call for artists” and Keaton applied with an application to present his choreography, soon to become Atmosphere in its form as a trio.

The short piece was created to give the conference attendees an experience that offers a moment of mental space, and a chance to feel peace. The intention was to create an atmosphere that gave the audience a space to digest the information they received throughout their time at the conference, and process what they had learned by freeing up mental space through experiencing art.

COSTUMING
Our costumes are designed and created with sustainability at the forefront of the process. We prioritize using recycled fabric materials, recreating with excess fabrics, and also upcycling secondhand items to create our designs.

Atmopshere III costumes are designed and created by sustainable dance wear brand,
Imperfect Pointes.

VISUALS
Some of our phase I performances have included graphics are designed by Jacqui Hinkson. The clips used are a collection of videos that the ACC team has taken from personal archives from experiencing nature, linking the imagery to the dancers as they move in the space.
