IMPERFECT POINTES // NBOC
TIGHTS SURVEY

Question 1:

Comments (6):
  • (Jordana) They are very comfortable and it means a lot that they're sustainably made
  • (Jenna) They are a great sustainable and environmental choice. The waistband is very nice and doesn’t compress. They are a nice weight and thickness. They have a few choice of shade and will continue to make more.
  • (Koto) Yes they’re comfortable and flattering tights that I would like as a rehearsal option.
  • (Tene) Yes! I think it would be amazing have the company be able to show that they are prioritizing sustainability and recognizing the importance of being accountable for our waste. It would help put the company to the next level on a global level.
  • (Calley) I love the sustainability aspect for rehearsal tights since I go through so many pairs every season! Would love to recycle rather than throw them away.
  • (Mckhayla) Absolutely. The dance industry does not offer enough dancewear that is manufactured sustainably. This not only affects our planet but our own health as well. These tights are one of a kind that is actually actively trying to help. Synthetic fabrics such as polyamides are toxic for the environment. Instead of continuously making these fabrics/chemicals, Imperfect Pointes recycles yarn (polyamides) and cotton to use in their products, which helps limit the production of these toxic materials. The crotch/gusset is also made with cotton instead of other synthetic toxic materials, which is extremely important in protecting our bodies from taking in toxins, especially in that area. What’s not to love.

  • (Genevieve) They were so soft and had a warming effect which I enjoyed. Plus the waist band was thicker so it did not cut into my skin
  • (Jordana) The waist band is amazing.
  • (Jenna) The waistband is very nice and different than other tights offered.
  • (Calley) They’re more comfortable than they tights they supply for performance.
  • (Tene) The fabric is super soft and they have a unique waist elastic that’s comfortable.
  • (Koto) I found the waistband more comfortable than gaynor or Capezio
  • (Tanya) Because of the waistband I found them more comfortable than current options
  • (Ross) It’s as comfortable as the other brand. It’s super smooth.
  • (Mckhayla) The foot hole is much bigger and offers more room for the sole of your foot to grip the inside of your shoe/pointe shoe. The waistband is also extremely comfortable and does not dig in like most sharp edges waistbands.

  • (Genevieve) As a company we are always looking for ways to improve your carbon footprint and this is one way that would be very beneficial both for the dancers the company and the planet!
  • (Jenna) We have to help our planet in anyway we can. We could also send our old and ripped tights to this recycling program.
  • (Jordana) It’s always important for companies to be environmentally conscious. Sustainability is key to preserving the world we live in. This tights make me feel like I can do a small part to help in this.
  • (Calley) I think sustainability is very important. NBoC is a big company so reducing the waste would do a lot. I don’t know how much waste we produce from ripped and new tights but having an option to recycle old and get new sustainable tights would be nice.
  • (Tene) The dancers go through so many tights a year and are all so disposed. Not only is this wasteful, but also expensive. I know that recycling them doesn’t necessarily return the money, but since the tights are being turned into something new it’s worth knowing that the money we spent on disposable tights isn’t just going into a landfill after a few times wearing them!
  • (Tanya) These tights seem durable for shows as well (I usually throw out several pairs due to rips and tears) and knowing that nboc can recycle them after would be a huge help!
  • (Ross) As a company it is important to make efforts in all departments no matter how small
  • (Koto) It’s as comfortable as the other ones and if it’s recycled tights, it’s great to have options to wear this tights for the company members.
  • (Mckhayla) Yes! Same as my first answer.
