In our Anagural year we curated a virtual evening that connected choreographers, dancers, videographers, speakers & musicians internationally to create works that align with our values and help us achieve our goals of creating climate progress and changing perspectives about the climate crisis.
Once these films premiered, they were available to stream for 30 days via Vimeo for our Art to Action fundraiser festival. Scroll to find the artists information that are major voices in our project! 'X YEARS' WINNIPEG PROJECT |

What inspired Philippe to create X Years was his recognition of pollution and environmental devastation that is causing a catastrophic debt to our future. Our current economic and social systems are based on the premise that human beings are selfish. As such, we have no incentive to protect future generations from environmental degradation at the expense to ourselves today. X Years looks at the impact of today on the future so as to incentivize action. |
"It’s been really lovely to work with ACC on this project! I truly believe they fill a space that is missing in the ballet world, and I cannot wait to see how this organization develops in the coming years." - Philippe

Shahamat Uddin, a spoken word poet, will be presenting a new poem created for Artists Climate Collective and our film project. “Just in my lifetime, I have seen many places I’ve called home deteriorate and die due to the catastrophic effects of climate change. These communities deserve longevity and life. I hope that my spoken word piece serves to shine a light on the nature, homelands, and indigenous peoples losing everything because of the human caused and human preventable climate crisis. May we hold the powerful accountable and protect the vulnerable to create a sustainable world for us all.” - Shahamat

'POROUS' SAN FRANCISCO PROJECT |
|
Emma's piece is about something that she experiences on a daily basis. "I live my life, knowing that my actions are exacerbating the effects of climate change. I find myself in a constant state of conflict because of the disparity between what I do, and what needs to be done.” "I am excited that Artist Climate Collective has created a platform that links the arts to the climate crisis. Personally I’m looking forward to working again with the camera; in film, the possibilities feel endless!" - Emma

'ALL EYES FORWARD' ATLANTA PROJECT |

"My idea for the piece was to convey the relationship between chaos and order while they raced to claim a territory. In this instance, chaos/order are synonymous with nature/industrialism and they reference the shifting dynamic between femininity and masculinity. I designed this piece to act as a conversation between sides. The pitfall of a quest for environmental change is that it’s very easy to arrive in a place of guilt. So often we adopt too much responsibility and feel isolated from aspects of our lifestyle because we know the impact it can have on the environment. I hope to convey that the relationship of human vs. nature should be one of symbiosis. The goal would be to navigate on an individual level how to sustain awareness and strive for improvement without limiting your own experience. I hope to show that our relationship with nature is a dialogue to be considered with curiosity, not fear or guilt." |
